Household Hazardous Waste Day
The Hopkinton DPW will be offering an annual Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, July 25 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the DPW building, 83 Wood Street. Residents are encouraged to drop off household hazardous products.
Examples of items that will be accepted are turpentine, paint thinner, oil-based paint, varnish, stains, waste fuels and oils, transmission and brake fluids, car wax, poisons and insecticides, weed killers, mothballs, household cleaners and polishers, wood preservatives (except penta), spot remover, flea powder, degreasers, hobby and art supplies, rubber cement and glues, pool chemicals, thermostats and thermometers, and propane tanks.

Acrobatic Performance with Li Liu - Saturday, July 25, 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm
Public Library, 13 Main St. (use Church St. entrance)
Back by popular demand! 'Traditions of Chinese Acrobatics' is a solo acrobatic performance. Li Liu performs hand balancing, plate spinning, ribbon dancing, diabolos and foot juggling. A limited number of volunteers get to join her on stage to create an impromptu ribbon dance, and also to try their hand at plate spinning. Educational connections are made with the Chinese language and culture. Li explains some of the rituals of Chinese New Year, teaches the audience some basic Chinese phrases, and encourages them to think about what it might have been like to grow up in a different time and place. Li's ideal audience is all ages! This program is generously funded by the Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library. Register Here
MWRTA - Big Changes, Better Service!
The MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA) is launching a redesigned bus network on Tuesday, September 8, the day after Labor Day. Changes include a new route numbering system, two-way service on many routes, expanded service in select areas, easier connections, and more frequent service! Whether you’re commuting to work, heading to school, or getting out to enjoy the day, travelling will be simpler and more convenient. The last day of current service will be Sunday, September 6, 2026. Full route schedules will be available soon!

Representatives from the MWRTA will have a table at the Library on Friday, July 31 from 10:00 am -12:00 pm. Stop by to pick up a new schedule or have your questions answered.
Roadwork Notice
Roadwork is occurring on the following streets. Dates are subject to change due to weather conditions. Work hours will be approximately 7 am - 5 pm. Please do not park along the sides of the streets as this will interfere with the scheduled work. Please expect delays.

Reminder - Real Estate Taxes Due
Fiscal Year 2027 Q1 and Q2 Real Estate bills are out, and the due dates are August 3 and November 2.
Senior Center Closed on July 31
The Senior Center will be closed on Friday, July 31, due to work that requires the building’s water to be off that day.

Ash Street Drainage Project
Please be advised that the Water & Sewer Department will shut down a portion of the water main on Ash Street, Monday, July 27, at 9:00 am. As part of the Ash Street Drainage Project, the Water Department will shut down the water main on Ash Street between 15 Ash Street (at Park Street) and 32 Ash Street (at Fenton Street). The water main will be shut down so the contractor can lower it to make way for the new drain pipe on Ash St. The contractor will work diligently to restore water service as soon as possible. Residents in the project areas may experience temporary water discoloration following the shut down. If you notice discolored water, please run only your cold water tap until the water clears. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important work.
