All, the following are details for this Sunday’s media event. We are aggressively working a conflict which may impact the Sunday event. I will send a confirmation to you tomorrow confirming the Senator is still hosting the event. I apologize for that inconvenience. The Sunday event is for the Senator to bring additional attention on the hazards of distracted driving and to announce bipartisan legislation to help crack down on distracted driving. The Improving Driver Safety Act would help more states access critical funding for enforcement and public education to curb distracted driving. In 2012, driver inattention and distraction was the most common factor contributing to motor vehicle crashes in Minnesota.

The Senator’s media event will take place from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Elm Creek Wayside Rest on I-94E in Maple Grove. Directions from the south – Take I-94 West toward St. Cloud. Take Exit 213 toward County Road 30. Turn Left onto Maple Grove Pkwy. Turn left to merge onto I-94 E toward Minneapolis. Take exit for Rest Area. The wayside rest is at approximately mile marker 214 in the south bound lane of I-94E. Should you use Google Map to locate the Rest Area, the address to use is 8540 Quarles Road, Maple Grove. However, DO NOT USE the address for driving directions.
