Passing this along from the heraldic class coordinator for vKWHSS 2024:

Greetings unto my fellow heralds from Ollivier Le Floch, Herald at large in
Lochac, heraldic class co-ordinator for the upcoming 2024 virtual Known
World Heralds and Scribes Symposium.

The next vKWHSS is happening from January 26th to 28th 2024, and it
promises to be an excellent opportunity to meet and learn from heralds and
scribes from all over the Known World from the comfort of your own internet
connection.

Registration for attendees will open in due time, and you'll definitely
hear from us about that down the track, but for now we're looking for
people who'd like to teach a class at the symposium. But before you delete
this message thinking "oh, that all sounds a little academic for me" or
"I'm not experienced enough to contribute", please take a second to hear
what we're looking for, as there's a lot!

vKWHSS is just a big bunch of heraldry nerds in a trenchcoat. We're keen on
everything heraldic, from SCA submissions, to period heraldic display and
everything in between. We're keen on entry-level classes for the newer
heralds that will be joining us, your forays into cultures and languages
that are underrepresented in the SCA, and specialist topics intended for an
audience of just a few. We're interested in lectures, discussion panels,
multimedia events and heraldry themed gaming sessions. Our planned tracks
are Armory, Onomastics, Voice Heraldry, College of Arms admin, and even
'Divers Related Arts', and we're open to branching out, so there's a room
and an audience at vKWHSS for your heraldic musings.

This virtual event is a great opportunity to hear from a greater diversity
of voices than the usual Symposium crowd. We're particularly interested in
hearing from people who are new to teaching and folks who are newer
heralds, rather than just from the much respected pillars of the heraldic
community, so please don't shy away from putting your hand up just because
someone else might have been doing the class for decades, we'd rather hear
from you!

If you have a class (or classes) you're keen to teach, you can sign up
at this link:

If you have some ideas that you'd like to explore, or you're keen to do
something but would like a mentor or some support to make it happen, email
me at olliviersca (at) gmail (dot) com so that we can try to make those
connections and work something out.

And if you've read this far and don't feel like you fit in either of the
groups above, please let me know what kind of classes you'd be interested
in attending at the vKWHSS, and we'll try to cater for your interests too.

Looking forward to seeing you at vKWHSS,
Ollivier

(PS: We're also interested in scribal classes, if that's your cup of tea.
Please get in touch I'll put you on to my scribal counterpart)

(PPS: If you have a kingdom heralds email list, discord server or other
method of communication where you haven't seen me wallpaper this message
yet, please repost to help distribute it so that we can reach as broad an
audience of heralds as we can.)
