to Hood Canal Shellfish Initiative
Please see the funding opportunity below, with strong connections to the Hood Canal Shellfish Initiative (HCSI) Action Plan (note that 50% non-federal matching funds are required). If you are interested in pursuing this funding source to implement actions out of the HCSI Action Plan, please let us know how Hood Canal Coordinating Council can support your efforts.

Thanks,

Nate

Funding cycle: February 1, 2022 – January 31, 2024

Washington Sea Grant (WSG) requests proposals for one- to two-year research projects from investigators at academic and research institutions throughout the state of Washington. Funded projects will contribute to WSG and state priority information needs by advancing knowledge in one of four focus areas: healthy coastal ecosystems, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, resilient communities and economies, and ocean literacy and workforce development.

About $2 million will be awarded during the two-year funding cycle through a competitive review process.

Proposals must follow the guidance detailed in the 2021 Request for Proposals and be submitted through eSeaGrant, WSG’s online proposal submission system.
