Migration of diverse communities into Hawaii and the impacts of global warming and climate change has put a strain on the production of locally produced foods, demanded the availability of land to accommodate the increase in population and on a larger scale impacted Hawaii's ability to be self sufficient. this annotated bibliography includes research of factors of migration of island communities (though not to be limited to one ethnic group) to the study of impacts of climate change on Hawaii and the history of agriculture in Hawaii. Prospective solutions and pathways are suggested in these documents that could be explored.

I also thought the impact of food self sufficiency on gender and women would be worth pursuing, considering many of the migrant communities are from the pacific. However literature relating to women and food self-sufficiency in Hawaii was not sufficient.
