Aloha Field Faculty,

We hope all is well! Each academic year we offer BSW and MSW students the opportunity to participate in interprofessional education (IPE) simulations. IPE simulations help students enhance their practice, knowledge, and skills and learn from other professions.  All simulation activities are organized by the Hawaii Interprofessional Education Committee of which our Department of Social Work is a part.

We're excited to share that our first IPE event will be with The Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 9AM to 11AM.   Followed by a Houselessness Simulation  on Wednesday, November 2nd and November 9, 2022.  We are expecting up to 30 social work students to participate.  These events will all be held on Zoom.

Having said this, we are truly in need of social work facilitators! Each Social Work facilitator is paired with a faculty member from the other professions (e.g., pharmacy, medicine, nursing, public health). We will have a prepared script of questions to ask of the students during the debrief.  Many of you have participated in the past and we hope that you'll consider participating again!

To sign up to be a facilitator, please email Wendy Lum (wendyrs@hawaii.edu) or complete this form:  https://forms.gle/mYthaVSseW4SVkof6.

We will confirm with those registered by sending a meeting invite with the associated facilitation script attached.  Please let us know if you have any questions.

Mahalo in advance for your support,

Wendy, Robin, and Aimee
