Hi Lindsey,

Thanks for reaching out! I think this is a great idea.
Would this be an online panel? I think this might be best if you want to include the whole board, as board members are globally distributed. Otherwise, I'm sure at least one of us will be at ICFP.

As for moderators: I'll let others make recommendations if they have one

Dear Laurent and Haskell Foundation board,

I'm chairing the 2026 Haskell Symposium, which will be held on August 28-29, co-located with ICFP 2026 in Indianapolis.

I'm writing to ask if the Haskell Foundation board (or some subset of the board) is interested in doing an "ask us anything" panel at the Haskell Symposium this year. Given the recent changes in HF leadership and board membership, it seems to me that a panel would be a good opportunity to introduce the community to the current HF board and discuss any questions that folks may have.

I'd be happy to either moderate the panel myself, or we could recruit another moderator (let me know if you have suggestions). And we could schedule it on either August 28 or 29.

Let me know what you think!

Lindsey

Hi Laurent -- thanks for your quick reply!

I would very much want at least some panelists to be present in person if possible, but I think we can pull off a hybrid event where some panelists join remotely, too.

Yes, I'm happy to invite the whole board, but I understand that not everyone may be available. If https://haskell.foundation/who-we-are/ is up to date, then it looks like there are 13 current board members. I think that if we can get a decent portion of board members -- let's say, oh, at least three in person and three remote -- then that will be enough for a successful panel. So I guess the next question is who from the board can be there in person, and who can't be there but would want to participate remotely.

Understood, I'll try to figure out who's available and let you know soon

I think this is a great idea, but sadly I'm not going to be at ICFP this year.  I'd gladly participate online, but I entirely support Lindsey's desire for in-person participation.
