Ok guys, this is it. It's my last email.
Thank you to such awesome students and parents. You're in good hands, I am not going to be that far away, will be in town frequently, and I love you immensely and am here if you need anything.
In parting, some fun for you:
Throughout the years I get asked about the full list of Com-band-ments that I sometimes reference in rehearsal. So, I thought today, as we get ready to leave our home in the band room for the final time, that I would leave them all here for you.
| 1 | Thou shall not talk in rehearsal. |
| 2 | Thou shalt have a pencil in every rehearsal, and use it. |
| 3 | Thou shall not chew gum or eat during rehearsal. |
| 4 | Thou shall not start with your right appendages. |
| 5 | Thou shall not tune with vibrato. |
| 6 | Thou shall not breath in the middle of a phrase. |
| 7 | Thou shall not play whole notes plain. |
| 8 | Thou shall not breath on a bar line with a crescendo. |
| 9 | Thou shall not play repetitive pitches at the same volume. |
| 10 | Thou shall not edit octaves (unless it's a musical). |
Pay attention to life, don't overcook anyones grits, be good people, make good choices.
Peace, Love, and Band;
MC
