new v15 installer does not start installation

Hi,
i downloaded dis1 02 jan 2026 installer from https://installers.hardenedbsd.org/pub/15-stable/amd64/amd64/installer/LATEST/

when i want to install in virtualbox 7.2.4 as vm, it works like live cd.

did you change anything? i was hoping to install operation system but i couldnt start setup screen. can you help me?

boot_only iso says on first screen, Freebsd installer.

This is something I plan to look into deeper tomorrow (Sunday). For
now, you should be able to login as root then manually start the
`bsdinstall` program.

i tested  bsdinstall but after i selected keyboard map. it resets the vm. i cannot install.

i only can enter installer with boot only iso for v15. anything you want me to check?

sorry i am writing new mail. i forgot to tell that after entered installer with boot only iso. when i select install button and there is no next screen it waits and resets vm.

I know you're not using a US keyboard, but what happens if you leave
the language selection as the default setting? That might give me a
hint as to what's going on. I just want to know if the installer
aborts then, too.

Ah, I need to document in our wiki (will do tomorrow) that we do not
support network-based installs. Supporting network-based installs
didn't really make sense when we were building on a nightly basis.

The distfile hashes are distributed in the install media, and verified
by bsdinstall upon download. So tomorrow's nightly builds (with the
LATEST/ symlink) would conflict with the hashes stored in the
installer image generated the night before.

Now that we've drastically slowed down our build cadence to quarterly
(with intermittent builds for security fixes), we might be able to
better support network-based installs.

Do you have an account on our GitLab instance? Can you file a bug
report in our GitLab[1]? That way, we can more easily track the
language selection bug.

yes i have gitlab account and i now logged in it.
i tested with 02 jan 2026 latest version of v15 installer and both default US keyboard or selecting us keyboard does not work. it resets the vm.
i installed v14 on vm without problem. can i upgrade it and use v15?
anything you want me do , i can test it for you.

i should say that when i wanted to reboot or poweroff the vm. 
it was working until i changed bidirectional  shared clipboard and drag and drop features.
now i will test on VMware Workstation Pro 25H2

i tested on vmware and first i continue with default us settings press enter and vm resets. after that i select test default keymap and it restarts . after that i selected united states of america as keyboard , it waits and restarts like all previous boots.

for boot only iso, installer screen comes but all selections install, shell, live system does not work. it restart vm without showing any error or any screen.
is there any way to log or monitor the problem?
