Basics of SSB Contesting

Lu, W4LT will be presenting a high level “How To Do SSB Contesting
And Not Sound Incompetent"

This will be a 50k mile overview of what contesting is, how to become involved in it shamelessly and specifically operating the upcomming NAQP Winter SSB contest at the TARC clubhouse with later participation in the Florida QSO party and Field Day,

Contesting makes better operators... Learn how to get your message through, how to be heard, and how to manage your radio for reception and transmission in crowded bands.

Also learn how to do computer logging and connect your radio to your PC for efficiency. Even if you have a radio that cant be computer controlled, you can still do the logging on the PC and I will present how this works.

The goal of this presentation is to prepare TARC operators for the Florida QSO Party in April and Field Day in June... And also to learn how much fun contesting can be! FD was my first solo contest back in 1977... Worked all states in a weekend with 90 watts and a 40m dipole!

TARC Clubhouse located:  7801 N. 22nd Street, Tampa, FL 33610
