It is with profound sadness that we announce the final 73 for Larry Gispert, KR4Z (SK), who peacefully passed away in his sleep last evening.

A true steward of the airwaves, Larry embodied the spirit of the hobby. He was always ready to help a new ham, lend a hand, build a new antenna, or work a contact at Field Day. Larry was one of members of the Davis Island group that helped start the TARC Club.

A memorial celebration of Larry's life will be held later in August. We will notify TARC members and friends as soon as more information becomes available.

Please keep Shirley, Larry’s wife, and the entire Gispert family in your thoughts and prayers.

Oh my, such terrible news.  Larry was such a wonderful guy and I considered him a good friend.  He did so very much for our club over the decades.  One of my fondest memories of him was as our stalwart cw nighttime operator for every TARC FD for many years and I always enjoyed tagging off with him at 6am Sunday morning. Had his own paddle and a huge thermos of coffee, just like in his Coast Guard radioman days.

Larry also was our K4OJ FQP multi-multi-mobile team test driver and backup op during our first year in 2014.

Boy, what a huge loss for all of us.

RIP Larry and gud DX dear friend.

That's sad news. Larry was a great friend to the ham community when he was the HC Emergency Manager and made ARES/RACES fun. He was a big part of the merger of TARC and TBARS and moving into the current clubhouse.
