My name is Tom Schaefer, NY4I, and I am running for the ARRL Southeastern Division Director.
In my 44 years as a ham, amateur radio has given me so much that I continually look for ways to give back. This is why I am running for the position of Southeastern Division Director. I love ham radio—whether it’s chasing DX, hunting POTA stations, CW contesting or all the other fun things we get to do. As part of that love for ham radio; long ago, I joined the ARRL. While I’m one of its biggest fans, I am also enough of a friend to the ARRL to say we do have some things we need to fix.
I’m asking for your vote. When you receive your postcard about your ballot, please read the candidate statements, pick the one that you believe has the greatest chance to effect positive changes and vote. Of course, I hope you choose to vote for me; but whomever you choose, please ensure to vote as that is the way we make our voices heard.
