XF4B — Revillagigedo (Update December 24th)
From The Daily DX and EA1CS-DX INFO
Don, N1DG, reports on DECEMBER 23rd, 2025
For immediate release. Christmas return to Socorro Island on December 23rd.
Following his brief trip to Revillagigedo in October, Mark, XE1B, was
invited to return during the Christmas holidays to reactivate XF4B. Mark
has a reservation on a Navy plane today and expects to arrive late in the
afternoon of December 23rd, where he will remain until the end of the
year, when his license expires. This time he will be accompanied by
Guillermo, XE1IMO, who will assist with logistics and will also operate
SSB and FT8 on the 80-6 meter band. All FT8 QSOs (except on the 60 meter
band) will be conducted in Superfox mode with call validation to eliminate
pirates. See QRZ for frequencies to be used.
The team will carry four antennas: two radios and one linear radio. They
will operate on SSB and FT8 simultaneously. There will be no automated
FT8 QSOs. Due to the lack of internet access, online log transmission
will not be possible. Post-operation QSLs will be confirmed only via
Clublog. N1DG will handle QSL processing. LoTW QSOs will be uploaded
as OQRS requests are processed. After covering postage and printing
costs, any surplus QSLs will be donated to the Northern California DX
Foundation.
We expect greater activation in 2026.
