Hacksburg has moved!
We have completed our move to the new workshop spaces at 1872 Pratt Drive, Suite 1620 in the CRC. If you haven't had a chance to tour the workshop yet, please stop by a meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 pm or attend one of the many events we have scheduled for this fall.

- Laser Cutter Basics

- This workshop covers the Hacksburg 80W CO2 Laser Cutter. Basic laser safety, design guidelines, and examples will be presented. Attendees will get to make their own laser engraved object.

- Woodworking 101

- Attendees will have the opportunity to make a simple wood project. The project is designed to utilize almost all of the woodworking tools Hacksburg offers and provide a great introduction to woodworking

- 3D Printing and CAD

- Learn the basics of designing parts in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as Autodesk Fusion 360. Also, learn 3D printing methods and how to print parts successfully on the Hacksburg 3D printer

- VT CRC Chili Cook-off

- Free event hosted by the VT Foundation. Join us during your lunch hour, treat yourself to a variety of chilis and see who the celebrity judges pick as BEST CHILI! #VTCRCchili Open to the public.

- Cidermaking Demo at the Blacksburg Farmers Market

- Fall is in the air and apples and are here! Hacksburg will be demonstrating our cidermaking process and offering free cider samples at the Blacksburg Farmers Market

- Come to Hacksburg with apples and you’ll be able to make your own cider! The best kind of apples to bring is a variety, only using one type typically results in extremely sweet or tart cider. Ten pounds of apples makes three quarts of cider

- Learn the basics of designing hats and masks for your Halloween costume using EVA foam, and easy to use, cheap, and excellent material for costume design

- To get those awesome final touches for your Halloween costume, learn tips and tricks for making ordinary foam and plastic look like battle-hardened accessories or millennia-old artifacts

- Pumpkin Carving

- Bring your own pumpkin to carve after the regular Tuesday meeting. Some tools will be provided. Bring a small (pie size) pumpkin to make a laser engraved design!

And as always, we will be holding weekly meetings every Tuesday 7:30 PM – feel free to come by for a tour! This meeting is open-to-the-public and followed by an open-to-the-public work session starting at the end of the meeting to whenever the last member leaves.
