To All:
Hacksburg has two announcements related to upcoming events:
Raspberry Pi Day Project Talks
On Pi Day this year (March 14), we will be holding a Pi Expo to showcase projects made by our community using the Raspberry Pi computers and microcontroller. Anyone with a project can give an informal five minute presentation, with time for questions depending on the number of attendees. Projects so far will include a Raspberry Pi based storage server, a psychophysiological monitoring system for a PhD project, and a Raspberry Pi controlled roomba! The Raspberry Pi Foundation often makes new product announcements around Pi Day, and we will make time to discuss those if they occur.
Please email rs...@hacksburg.org with your project title if you'd like to make a presentation!
Lightsaber Class
In connection with the Lightsaber Club at Virginia Tech, we will be jointly running a "build a lightsaber" series of classes. Making a Lightsaber will involve machining, electronics, and creativity, and should be really fun. The cost of the lightsaber will depend on how much of it you want to make during the class vs. at some point afterwards and will range from $30-$200, roughly.
We are trying to gauge interest in this and please email rs...@hacksburg.org if you think you might be interested. No payment or firm commitment required at this time. The class will be held around May The Fourth (be with you!).
