April/May Update

Hello Makers, Crafters, and Creators and Happy Spring!

First, an important update: the Prop Distressing class originally scheduled for today has been moved to tomorrow, Sunday April 28, due to conflicts with other events. If you are still looking for something to do today, you can check out NRVCon at the Blacksburg University Mall, or the Repair Cafe at the Christiansburg ReStore.

Additionally, this week's general meeting, Tuesday April 30 at 7:30 pm, has been moved from the regular meeting space to the Hahn Hall South Atrium. The students who have been working in the space will be presenting their final projects. It's a super casual celebration of them finishing projects, and everyone is invited.

• We'll be going over basic techniques and how to use the sewing machines in the workshop

The space is purchasing a new lathe for the workshop. We are currently using one that was very generously loaned to us by a member. If everything goes as planned it should be delivered to the space on May 5th. If you are available to assist with moving it into the space, please send a message to jo...@hacksburg.org.

And as always, we will be holding weekly meetings every Tuesday 7:30 PM – feel free to come by for a tour! This meeting is open-to-the-public and followed by an open-to-the-public work session starting at the end of the meeting to whenever the last member leaves.
