To All:
Our neighbors and Hacksburg members Rendyr have been developing a desktop portable laser cutter, and the crowdfunding campaign just launched! Here's the link to the Kickstarter page:
From my time seeing it work and discussing technical details with the Rendyr team, it's solidly built, well thought out, and should be a very useful machine.
If you want to buy one yourself or otherwise contribute to the campaign, today is the best day to do that! Strong momentum at the beginning of a crowdfunding campaign is important for success.
Hacksburg is hoping to purchase one with financial help from the community; please email
bo...@hacksburg.org if you're able to contribute to that. Having a Rendyr Optic will allow us to engrave and cut anywhere, including on sheets of material too large to fit in our laser cutter. We will be able to bring the machine to events like Solstice Fest and Steppin' Out, directly supporting our mission to allow members of the community to complete projects which would otherwise be out of reach.
