     Hacksburg has the following events coming up in March:

Sunday, March 5 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM: 3D Printing

Learn 3D printing methods and how to print parts successfully on the Hacksburg FDM 3D printer. Special focus on producing landscapes like those shown above. Ages 14 and up. Free for Hacksburg members; $5 class fee for non-members. RSVP at https://hb.gy/awWFj .

Saturday, March 11: Lightsaber Making Order Date

Hacksburg has partnered with the Lightsaber Club at Virginia Tech to hold a lightsaber making class. Build a movie-set-grade lightsaber with a full color blade, motion sound effects, and sturdy construction for lightsaber battles! You will machine the hilt out of aluminum, solder the electronics, and assemble the blade over several sessions. Ages 16 and up. Sign up at https://hb.gy/sp2023lightsaber !

Sunday, March 12 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM: Wind Chimes

Learn how to use the metal lathe, milling machine, laser cutter, and polishing booth to make these wind chimes with a mirror finish from aluminum, brass, or bronze. Use the sand blaster to produce a decorative effect! Ages 16 and up. $5 for Hacksburg members; $10 for non-members. RSVP at https://hb.gy/UjYHe .

Sunday, March 19 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM: Seed Starting and Gardening Basics

Get ready for garden season by learning how to start your own plants from seed. Starting from seed saves money and increases the variety of plants you can grow! This class will also cover basic garden prep information such as mixing soil and making planters. Ages 16 and up. $15 for members, $20 for non-members. This includes a starting kit and seeds. Sunday, March 26, All Day: Lynchburg Maker Faire!

Hacksburg will be exhibiting at Maker Faire Lynchburg. Come out and enjoy hands-on activities, amazing exhibits, locally made products for sale, food trucks, a group build project and more! This event is free and family-friendly. There will be activities for kids as young as 4, plus fun for grown-up makers too. More information at https://hb.gy/hnNEp . Hacksburg members: bring any items you'd like to show off by March 25 and notify the board. Also, we are working on a group project for the booth every Thursday at 7:30PM until the event.
