Lightsabers and Cider Making in October!

     Hacksburg has the following events coming up in October:

Lightsaber Making: Signup and payment due October 7!

Hacksburg has partnered with the Lightsaber Club at Virginia Tech to hold a lightsaber making class! Build a movie-set-grade lightsaber with a full color blade, motion sound effects, and sturdy construction for lightsaber battles! You will machine the hilt out of aluminum, solder the electronics, and assemble the blade over several sessions. Sign up at https://hb.gy/fall2023lightsaber .

Sunday, October 15 and 22 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM: Ninth Annual Hacksburg Cider Making

Come to Hacksburg with apples and you'll be able to make your own cider! The best kind of apples to bring is a variety, only using one type typically results in extremely sweet or tart cider. Ten pounds of apples makes three quarts of cider. No RSVP required.

Cider making is for attendees of all ages. If you are bringing an attendee under 18, you (the parent/guardian) must stay the whole time your child/dependent is there.

No class fee and no RSVP required!

Sunday, October 29 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM: Fermentation and Hard Cider Basics

We will cover the basics of turning apple cider (and other fruit juices) into an alcoholic drink. Works great with fresh cider from the Ninth Annual Hacksburg Cider Making!

This class is for attendees age 21 and up. No underage class attendees permitted.
