Learn the basics of sewing using the sewing machines at Hacksburg. This class will cover beginner sewing techniques, as well as a guide for expanding into advanced techniques. Attendees will make a pillowcase. This class is for ages 14 and up. The class is free for Hacksburg members and $5 for non-members. RSVP at rs...@hacksburg.org or https://www.meetup.com/HacksburgVA/events/286100974/ .

Saturday, June 18: Summer Solstice Fest!

Join Hacksburg as we present our member projects and organization to the community at Summer Solstice Fest 2022. This is one of our biggest community outreach events each year and is an exciting time for gaining new members. Please encourage non-members to attend to support a fun town festival and come to our booth! Hacksburg members: come to the June 7 and June 14 meetings if you want to drop off items to present, and please consider staffing the booth! It will be a long day, so however many people we can get will be beneficial. You don't have to stay the whole day.

Sunday, June 19 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM: Hacksburg Open House

Hacksburg is a non-profit Makerspace located in Blacksburg, VA. Started in 2014, we're a community workshop focused on enabling creatives and entrepreneurs in the New River Valley to complete projects that would otherwise be out of reach. Whether you need equipment, mentorship, or just some space to work, Hacksburg is meant to be an accessible, collaborative, and affordable resource for building anything from rockets to robots to rocking chairs. Hacksburg members: we will be cleaning the Sunday prior. Come and help!

Sunday, June 26 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM: Laser Basics

Attendees will learn how to make their own edge-lit acrylic gift and receive the LED base with the optional materials fee. Free for members and $5 for non-members, and a $10 optional materials fee. RSVP at rs...@hacksburg.org or go to https://www.meetup.com/HacksburgVA/events/286101233/ .

And as always, Hacksburg has open meetings every Tuesday at 7:30PM. You can join in-person (1872 Pratt Drive Suite 1620) or online at https://meet.hacksburg.org/OpenGroupMeeting .
