Hi everyone:

I remember talking to Max about a 3d mouse sometime within the last year.
I thought about using my HOTAS stick as a 3d mouse and possibly making my own 3d mouse (for fusion 360).
It seems instead of buying and wiring up 3 pots + button, you can get one of these 4-axis joystick pots

If I'm reading and understanding it correctly, these will have the x, y, twist, press for the 4 axes?

This is a video of hooking it all up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUeDE8o02q8

From the video, the twisting input shows up as a button, not as another continuous input that you would typically have set for yaw, which is kind of weird.

To Dan:
This is neat, I've never seen one of these joysticks before. It does seem to have X+Y+twist as potentiometers and a button. 3D mice (https://3dconnexion.com/us/product/spacemouse-compact/) have six degrees of freedom, the rotational ones plus three translational ones. You might be able to attach that joystick to something which gives you the translational degrees of freedom.

From,
     Max
