The new laser computer has been set up:

Thank you to everyone who supplied parts for the computer. This computer has six cores, 32GB RAM, and a 500GB SSD, so it will be much faster than the old one. All of the files in the Downloads and My Documents folders have been copied over from the old machine. Lightburn is installed, but the license hasn't been transferred over yet so there's a warning about the free trial you can ignore. The new graphics card can run two screens, which is a nice bonus.

There is a new Z drive in Windows which both the old and new computers can see. If you need to access the old computer still, move the keyboard, mouse, and ethernet cables from the new computer to the old, turn on the old computer under the desk, and switch the input on the left monitor. I have installed AutoCAD 2017 on the new computer, but I still need to figure out how to move the license over.

The old computer worked fine in Lightburn, but it struggled in Fusion 360 and Prusaslicer, which we are using more often now. The new computer should do well in those applications. Please email bo...@hacksburg.org if you have any questions.

From,
