In case you didn't know, Congress is currently voting on a stop-gap bill (known as a continuing resolution) that would forbid DC from carrying out its FY25 budget. It would require the District to revert to its FY24 budget, meaning the city will have to make $1.1 billion in cuts between the bill's passage and Sept. 30. This will impact city services tremendously (
read more here). The bill passed the House on Tuesday and is currently in the Senate. City residents and allies have been pressuring Senators to
vote no on the continuing resolution, and
it's working!
