The May 28 issue of Nature (available in almost any college library) has a bunch of articles on robots & artificial intelligence plus a story on laser weapons.

Consumer Reports just reviewed the Sphero BB-8 robot (Dec. (yes, they
think it's December already) 2016 issue, page 32). Eerily like what
HacDC wanted to do...

Attached is a soft robot finger mold I used to build a two finger gripper hanging from sky( wire) bot. Pop a few during testing, so controlling gss pressure using liquid/gas transition would eliminate air pump and air controls.

Go for it. Send me a video.

Free Entry to Whitman Robotics Team Competition (Mar. 11-12)

This year Walt Whitman's own Team 1389 (The Body Electric) is hosting the FRC Bethesda district robotics competition sponsored by Ledios. Come view thirty-six teams competing in a first step towards world qualifications. Our team has been working over 25 hours per week during this build season to bring out our strongest competition in years. This is a once-a-year opportunity to experience firsthand our award-winning robotics team -- especially great for current middle school students interested in learning more about Whitman Robotics.

Admission is free March 11 and 12, 8am-6pm at Whitman High School (Whittier Blvd. across from Robinwood Rd. off of River Rd. in Bethesda, Md.). Concessions will be available for purchase. Preview the 2023 Charged Up game challenge here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zpflsYc4PA&t=7s
