I have the GW2208E-P NVR system and added a GW Security 5MP 2592 x 1920 Bullet IP Camera to add to the system.

While viewing the video feeds on my monitor I am getting video for seven of my cameras, but not the one I just added. Instead, I have a black screen with the message "not supported h265 video format".

I've tried adjusting the configuration, but with no success.

The weird thing is that I DO get the video on the app for my iphone.

But no video for this camera on my WAN connected computer, nor my monitor.

Any suggestions?

If you are able to log into the camera's web interface, please change both Mainstream and Substream encoding to H.264.

I am able to log into the camera's web interface. However, under both Mainstream and Substream the default is already H264.

I also should note that the field for "video encoding" is grayed and does not allow changes. It's defaulted to H264.

I had four cameras that came with my initial system. I ordered three more, for a total of seven. This was the last camera I ordered, for a total of eight. Again, the video from this camera does show up on my online feed that I see on my phone, but I'm unable to view it on my monitor or on my computers (via WAN).

Be sure and use Internet Explorer as your browser to view the cameras. If something is grayed out, it's usually a browser issue. You can also try a different computer to view, just make sure it's Internet Explorer. The cameras don't play well with other browsers. Also check the firmware on the cameras and NVR, make sure they are up to date. On my system the cameras has the setting for codec H265, but my older version NVR doesn't support H265 so I use H264. Good luck!
