Downloaded the CMS300 fix and install on computer I was able to connect to the NVR2216E, but unable to preview cameras. I can see all the cameras listed under the NVR I just can not view them.

Anybody else tried this yet and experienced the same problem?

Are you talking about the "Surveillance Management System" software?
Not sure what the CMS 3000 application is?

It is the same thing. So I was able to set it up and connect to my camera and view them and also view the recording on the old outdated NVR.
I have the model:
Security NVR Unit:  GW-NVR2208E
Firmware Version: V2.3.1 build20180901
Web Version: V2.2.20 Build Feb 29 2016

So log into the Surveillance Management System (SMS for short) and on the Preview tab, if you see the NVR unit, just double click on it. It'll load up all the camera feeds. If you don't need all 8 or 16 feeds, then on the DEVICE tab, edit the NVR properties and just say it has X # of "Video Channel:" so when you double click on it, it just loads those 3 that are active.

Example:

This is what I have

Model:   GW-NVR2208E

Firmware Version:  V2.3.1 build20180901
Web Version:  V2.2.20 Build Feb 29 2016

I can connect to it successfully, but when I double click on the NVR, or any single camera, the frame says "connecting..." for a second, then goes away and the frames stay blank.  Interesting though if I right click on any of the frames and select 'Video Param', then select the 'OSD Parameters' or 'Area Mask' tab I can see a still from the camera.  I tried installing the software on two different computers, and each with the same results.

My firewall was blocking the program. I disabled firewall then installed program and it worked. I then allowed the program through the firewall and it's working.
