GW78 Recording resolution

Has anyone fine tuned the recording resolution before? Especially, photos taken at night. The quality of the photos are very low, to the point the images are not usable/identifiable. I believe it was taken in vga mode, how do I improve?

I have the same issue.  I can change bit rate and quality to "Best" and picture looks great until it starts recording.  When I go back to check settings, they have reverted to lower quality.  I can't figure out how to make them stick.  Very frustrating.
