I am using the GW5504N NVR and am unable to remote view anything outside of my home WiFi network.  Which ports need to be opened so I may do so.  Do I need to change to IP address and port the NVR wants to use as well?

The default ports are 80 and 9000. If you are only using the app to access the NVR, then port 80 (http port) is not needed.

For this particular model, you should be able to use the P2P ID to connect. You can find the ID and QR code in the system info page.

Complete failure to connect remotely using either the P2P ID or port forwarding both 80 and 9000,

I don't have your model but to connect to mine remotely outside my home via a computer, I simply enabled uPnP rather than do the port forward method and it seemed to work fine, have you tried that? The 55 series manual says it supports it understand the network section. I believe when you log in you can find it in the network section, the manual shows it as a check box.

Is the issue happening on a PC or on your remote view app?

If it is on a PC, are you seeing the page not found error or something else?

If it is on your app, which app are you currently using?

I am having the same issue on a PC with internet explorer 11 (picture attached).

My Android app is working fine though.

I've been attempting to use both GWCamView and RealView Pro. RealView Pro fails to even connect via WiFi and GWCam View only connects via WiFi.  Using my PC I have no issues.  IE is not an option on my phone as it is not supported on Android.

Hi, I am having the same issue logging in remotely using app (android).  it seems to connect briefly then disconnects.  I have another camera using Swann and it works fine.  My app at home works fine, just when away it doesn't.

If GWCamView is not working please try download RxCamView and see if that is working for you.

If you can, please let us know what is your current firmware version as well.

Realview Pro will not work with the GW55 series NVR. The app is for the 22, 24, 32, 34 series NVR and 61 series DVR only.

RxCamView, failed to even connect via WiFi as did RxCamLink(HD/PRO).  SCamView and any other app written by Deng Bo failed to either connect via WiFi or wouldn't off of WiFi.  I have attempted apps from multiple sources with the same result.  They would either connect via WiFi only or not at all.

The Firmware version is V5.2.0-20170704
Hardware version is DM-308,

Our developer reported to us that there was an issue with the P2P server thus caused slow connecting via the P2P ID.

We are working on a fix at the moment and a new firmware for the NVR will be made available in a couple of days.

In the meantime, we can help you do port forwarding so you can connect using direct IP address.

If that is a workable solution, please give us a call or schedule for an appointment by emailing sup...@gwsecurityusa.com

I have already opened multiple ports via port forwarding.  I wrote an email more than a week ago which your company has never responded to concerning which ports have been opened.  Due to your total inability to respond to an email on your own website and NO time in the near future to bow to your LATE attempts at help I am in the process of obtaining an RMA from Amazon to return your product.

I finally got my IOS Mobile remote working after trying different Network settings.
After downloading RXCamview - selected the + (Device Manager) - selected "IPC/NVR/DVR" (Manual wasn't an available option) then scanned the QDR code (ios Viewer app) displayed on top of the DVR server. This is where I made changes....after the scan was done, I clicked on the IP directory field it displayed a long directory path (ex. app/ios/id192.168.../etc...)
I deleted everything except the actual ip address (192.168.....). Then on the Device field I entered the "Device Name" exactly as shown on the DVR server under System/Info
ex. 1080G-XYZ...
Also on the DVR Server under Parameter/Network -  I selected DHCP then rebooted the server. now my Device is Connected.
Hope this helps

The port number is on your end of network, not on GWs. Port forwarding bypasses the P2P server. GW has nothing to do with your network or forwarding of your ports.

Log in to your router with web browser. Look for network settings for port forwarding or DMZ. If using dmz it will open all ports to a single IP.

Also, are you sure you are using correct IP when adding nvr to app. You’re not supposed to use the internal IP. You have to enter your networks external IP address. Which is then forwarded via your routers port forwarding to the DVR.

You can try enabling Upnp. Upnp has to be enabled on the DVR and on your router.

You may have to reboot the DVR after enabling. Then status of Upnp should show “success”. It will show two sets of numbers one is your networks external IP address and incoming port #, the other is the internal IP address and port #. The external numbers are what you need to enter into the app or remote connect software for remote viewing.

For example: remote web browser address would be http://externalip:externalport#
