Trying to update camera firmware (NVS-MC400L-VO-AF).  Can't get them to show up in tool search.  I've tried the AJDevTools, SearchTools, UC, GWIPCManager, nothing works.  I have a GW5508NP recorder.

Download ‘Advanced IP Scanner’ from google search. Run a network scan and you should see cameras listed.

You can then use drop down menus on left of screen to open browser to login to camera directly or take note of each camera IP address and direct your browser to those IPs to log in.

Works beat using Internet Explorer. You may be prompted to install a plugin. Download plugin and close browser before installing and then reopen Internet explorer.

The firmware upgrade option will be listed somewhere under camera setup menu once you get logged in.

I would also recommend taking the time to set each camera to static IP while logged in. That way you won’t lose connection if the router or DVR changes the cameras IP address for some reason. Usually only happens after power outage.

P.S. - GW Security...how much do you pay your tech support employees? I have yet to see any real help from your guys on any of these issues. I will gladly continue to help your customers though. 😉

Also, don't be a dumbass like me and update all cameras at once. Had a brain fart moment and bricked every camera I own. Not happy at all with this pos system.

Haha. Yup, I’ve done that before. There should be a reset button on one of the circuit boards inside the camera.

Amcrest cameras are notorious for having this problem as well.

Bro! Tech said $800 (6 cameras) for a "discounted" replacement the ones I had were not fixable, if this is the case, might need your address for a box a steaks! LOL

Haven't had time to tear into them, think the update was wrong for the IP stack - they come on fine, show link light at switch, but nothing can find the mac/ip broadcast or connect. I will look for a reset switch that will save me time reflashing the stack.

🤙

If you do find a reset button in camera be sure you have camera powered on while doing the reset. Also, hold down reset button for at least 30 seconds for complete reset.
