Hi,

Cameras are 5572MIP ,5556 MIP and GW3088IP

 I am running 2 NVR's

1st  GW5504N   All cameras connect and are set to record at all times but also set to record when motion is detected.  The result is blue records plus the yellow entries where movement is detected.  Works flawlessly with easy to review records.

2nd GW-NVR3216E-  With the new NVR  there are slightly different menus but the concept is the same. I set the recording schedule to all and it works flawlessly.

The problem I am running into is with the motion recording. I have set up the motion recording schedule to all but no motion is ever recorded.  As a control I can see that that there are motion events on the 4 channel NVR.

New NVR motion settings steps:

1/ menu Alarm - 2/ Motion-  3/set camera number - 4/set trigger area(whole screen) -  5/check all - 6/Sensitivity to highest.- 7/Save.
No motion recorded under search after seeing a car drive by...

At this point the 4 channel NVR seems to have a better style of scheduling and reliably works!

What am I missing or doing wrong on the GW-NVR3216E?  I simply want the same result which is blue for the constant record entries with the yellow entries to indicate motion.

Also when backing up the GW-NVR3216E entries the MP4 option seems to be gone.  There is only Avi or DAT now.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you kindly.

For the GW3216E, are you setting the motion alert via the web interface or directly from the console?

From the web interface, there is actually another schedule tab next to the motion area setting. You would have to turn on that schedule as well.

From the console, just highlight the time bar marked "all" in the motion alarm setting menu.

The GW3216E can only output DAT (it's own file format) or AVI at the moment.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes I have first activated the motion settings via the web interface for all cameras first and then set up the motion settings via the console.

All 4 cameras work as expected via the 4 channel NVR as a control to check the settings, but not with the GW3216E.  The only camera that works is the new LPC.  (constant record and motion entries)

My only other guess is that motion has to be turned off on the 4 channel NVR and set only on the GW3216E.  However if that is the case why does the LPC work as it should on both NVR's?

Another problem I have noticed on the GW3216E is that I have tried to save the sensitivity of all cameras to HIGH after hitting save it tells me save is successful. However when I hit the refresh tab it reverts back to lowest.   To be clear that is after hitting the refresh button NOT the reset defaults button.

Please advise.

Thanks.

UPDATE

Kudos to Tech support agent Eddie.    He figured out that the 5572MIP ,5556 MIP   needed to be reset to factory defaults and added again to the GW3216E to get the motion recording to work.
Unfortunatly after a time this stopped working again.  The process can be repeated with the same results.

Also PTZ on the GW3216E  does not work with the 5572MIP ,5556 MIP.   I have to goto the web interface or again use the more stable GW5504 NVR/or the GWcamview app to move the zoom and focus. Luckily these cameras have excellent auto focus.

As for the GW3088IP the reset to factory defaults also seems to have fixed the motion detection recording for a longer time but it has stopped working as well.  The reset and re- add fix is repeatable as well.

The PTZ function works with the 3088 no problems.

Also with all cameras turning on the back light seems to kill the motion detection too.

The web interface for the all camera are also buggy.  Only firefox seems to work with the VLC plugin to interact with the cams.  The current plug in does not work with IE, Chrome Etc.. The NVR webportal works with chrome with no issues.

I hope all these can be patched soon.
