Did you know that x-rays were discovered in 1895? This breakthrough is considered one of the most significant advances in medicine. In this week's blog, Dr. Ann Hohenhaus explores how x-rays help us see inside our animal patients.

Hi Janet and all, this was very interesting. Two years ago my retired dog Nova developed cancer. It was so rapid that we had no idea it was even happening. All her life, Nova had been kind of a loner—she liked to go off and be by herself. So if she was depressed, it would be hard to tell. She didn't show any of the other signs that were mentioned in this article. I read it with great care and interest to see if there would have been any way of knowing about Nova's cancer. Unfortunately she did not show any of the symptoms listed. She loved her food and her treats, and up until the last day, she especially liked getting little treats. I knew that it was time to say good-bye when she didn't even want a treat at the last while we were at the vet getting ready to euthanize her. But I will be watching for any of these signs with Ruby, that's for sure. Thank you for sending this.    Debby and Ruby
