For anyone living in CA.
SB1269 is a bill in our State that is going through the legislature and it is about allowing animal chiropractors to treat animals without being under the supervision of a veterinarian. Chiropractors are doctors, hence DC, which stands for doctor of Chiropractor. Animal chiropractors should have the same rights as chiropractors do in the treatment of their patients.Chiropractors who treat humans do not need to operate under a medical doctor.
I do believe this bill would benefit many of us with guide dogs. I have done both chi8ropractic adjustments and acupuncture with one of my guides. It was very effective and allowed him to work four more years.
This is all I know about it as of now. I am not suggesting that the CCB supports this bill, but I am suggesting that anyone has a guide dog and wishes to, please contact your Assembly member to let them know you support this bill.
By the way, it was my chiropractor that told me about this bill. He is not an animal chiropractor.
Warmest,
Margie
