visability of dog harness or what is on guide dog

Hi

The issue is also some have said that they can't see the harness on the guide dog to well and  it is not bright enough and it may not be big enough for people to see that it is a service dog going by the harness.

and what lettering there is on the seeing eye harness just doesn't show up  and i think the seeing eye harness just says the seeing eye on them and my understanding or i am told that doesn't show up.

Sounds like people are overly picky and out to get you.  Totally unnecessary.  You know your rights; don't cave into the folks bothering you.  Just my thoughts.--Matt & fancy.

P.S.  I don't run into these kinds of comments.

If that's the case, then why are you telling us about what people seem to be complaining about regarding the visibility of the harness?--Matt & Fancy.

it is not about walking down the street it seems to be that in group situation people are always trying to pet talk to the dog and  even when i firmly say no and i told them not to do that.

But some are saying they  can't see my mom for one said that the harness doesn't show up very well or the writting on it.

I had an incident in a dary queen where the lady on cash said no dogs are alloud my friend that was with me gave her crap for saying that she friend said he is a service dog and she told the lady say that again or we won't come back but it shut the lady up.

Nitpicking, in my opinion.  I have never encountered that issue.  Put another way, who's really blind here.  Open your eyes and USE THEM!--Matt & Fancy.

Hello Andrew,

 

You might want to get a sign to place on the harness handle stating, “Please do not pet the service dog”. GDUI sells these and you can find them on Amazon as well.

 

In addition, if you already have The Seeing Eye app on your phone, or you might want to download it, there is terrific information on your access rights that is under the Department of Justice (DOJ), under the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) regarding access rights for service animals.

 

I suggest you call the school for additional help. They have encountered these types of situations and can assist you.
