Good afternoon,

I am a teacher and the church technology coordinator at the congregation I serve in Appleton WI. I am wondering if any one has had any luck with replacing their projectors with  LED Laser Projectors.

Our current projectors have been well loved and up there in age. They are often overheating causing the cooling fan to stop which then causes the projectors to power down. We are gathering information on replacements at the moment so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have had pretty good success with the Epson laser projectors in a classroom setting at KMLHS, where I serve, and in the sanctuary at my congregation. We have switched most of our classrooms over to large interactive touchscreens, but in any larger spaces where we need a projector, any replacements are all laser rather than bulb-based. I've also been investigating large-format video walls or video screen arrays for larger areas. They are considerably brighter than most projectors, and the price is getting close enough to a high-end projector that they may make sense in some applications.

If this is for a school setting and you are not aware of Epson's Brighter Futures discount program, I encourage you to look into it.

Good day,
I am not in charge of the ones at my church, but I do know they replaced them a few years ago with laser ones. They seem to be working great.

If you want to stay with projectors, then yes, laser are the way to go. The main thing will be to make sure you clean the filters each year and to get new ones that have the same throw ratio as your old ones. You might also need to get different mounts if the ones you have are not universal.

I replaced halogen projectors with LED projectors in my old district about 8 years ago. They were working perfectly three years in. I haven't been in touch with them for a while, though. I had expected to get 8 years out of them.
