SLDR/Langtags Pre-Release Period Announcement

The release of SLDR and Langtags is scheduled for early next month, February 2025.  As of this week, the data is ready on staging and we will refrain from making any changes for the next two weeks to give you a chance to test the updated files.

The changes in the SLDR include updated autonyms, collation fixes, and these new files:

• abq.xml

• apd.xml

• bej.xml

• bjt.xml

• bsq.xml

• fue_Arab.xml

• xes.xml

• zlm.xml

Additionally, some files have been renamed to reflect the updated minimal tags as seen in the staging version of Langtags, which is also frozen for review.

If something does not work as expected, please let us know using the community site at https://community.software.sil.org/c/writing-systems/ or the sldr_updates channel on the SIL Language Technology Slack.

If everything is satisfactory, we would aim to release the updated langtags and SLDR either late in the first week of February or early the week after.
