Last week my wife, Jeanie, introduced Ms. Quinn's second grade instructional class to Interaction Design, an element of her profession field.  She brought along 4 "MaKey MaKey"s (make anything into a (keyboard) key), a variety of materials, handouts and worksheets, and had the students apply the STEM Design Process to creating a game controller for kindergarteners.

I saw excitement from both students and staff, and I think the school may be getting their own MaKey MaKeys.

Actually, Lora, I'd love to do it again. I think I'd modify a couple things...perhaps break it up into 2 sessions - the first one giving the kids more time to play and discover what's possible with the makey makey, then spend the second one applying that new knowledge to a specific design challenge.

Let's talk!
Jeanie
