Hello parents,

Thanks to all of you who have already volunteered to help out with Family STEM Night on Thursday, Feb. 5th from 6pm-8pm. It's shaping up to be another great event. We still need additional parents for a few stations - descriptions are below. Instructions and supplies will be provided, Many of the stations already have leaders. We just need a few more people to assist because of the large number of students attending. Please email me, Jenny Coursey, Karen Weller Swanson, or Dave Barker if you are interested.

I am also planning to put the call out in this weekend's wildcat update but I wanted to give you guys first shot at them.

Thanks, David

Station 1 - Milk in Motion!
Experiment uses milk, food coloring, and soap in petrie dishes and explores the concept of how soap and fats interact.

Station 2 - Billowing Balloons!
Experiment uses baking soda and vinegar in test tubes and explores the chemical reaction that inflated the balloon.

Station 3 - Magic Sand!
Experiment involves sand, water, and Scotch Guard and explores the concept of how the sand stays dry even after being in water.

Station 4 - Solid Carbon Dioxide!
Experiment studying the properties of dry ice. Reid Mallard has done it for several years and would like a younger student parent to assist this year.

Station 5 - Edible Body Parts!
Dissection of cow's tongues, brains, and other edible body parts. Erin Conrad could use another helper.

Station 6 - Electricity!
Experiments involving circuits, gears, motors, and static electricity. Blanton Radford could use another helper.

Station 7 - MaKey MaKey!
Ms. Quinn needs help from anyone familiar with this really cool computer keyboard invention.
