Good Afternoon,
First of all, your students did a great job talking about and explaining our third grade coding/STEM with the two staff folks from the Dekalb County School System--who came last week and filmed them. Hopefully, your student told you about it. I really do not know much about it other than the little bit I was told so I thought I would share it with you as some parents were interested. Apparently, the filming will be presented (as part of a STEM presentation involving other schools and grades also) to the DCS Board tonight at their meeting. Apparently, what our third graders did with coding/STEM was considered impressive enough to be presented as a model for other school's coding/STEM programs to consider. That is all I know about it; should you see it on the computer at our DCSS website or on TV at our DCSS station, let me know. The students had great fun thinking they were going to be on TV!
Once again, thank you Dave Barker for all of your expertise and help in our coding journey! And, thanks to our fabulous students for being such avid learners and coders
