Hi all,

I’m nailing down details for discount card sales. Last year, we had a variety of incentives that I did drawings for most of the weeks some of which were donated items. That was a lot! We also had an outdoor silly string celebration that our top sellers were invited to. That was what we could do following Covid and starting late in the school year.

This year, I’m thinking we can go back to the game truck for top sellers, if y’all think it would be the preferred reward. I’m also wondering if we need an incentive for kids to sell 2 cards. If so, I wanted to do something less involved but still fun for the kids. Shannon suggested these little ducks for every 2 sales. I could just leave them in the office and send a list of kids to pick their duck each day. If we give these for every 2 sales, I'd need to buy 250 ducks for about $120. I'm still researching the game truck cost which looks pretty high. Casey is checking to see what it was before Covid. Wondering if we need to do both incentives as they are eating into our profits. What do you think would drive your kids the most?

Thanks for your thoughts!

I still can't find any info on the game truck. I don't see a payment for anything like that. Is it possible it was donated?

Hey y’all,

So after searching through old emails it looks like we used to pay about $250 for the game truck. That has doubled in our current economy. What do you think about offering this to our top sellers? If we do, I don’t think we should spend on the smaller incentives.

If we think $500 is too much, I’m open to other suggestions.

How does that compare to what we typically make off those?

I personally think it would be worth it. I think we will get a lot more sales this year with that being the incentive. Kids LOVE their video games ! 🤪

I don’t have much info on years before last. Looks like 22 kids sold 10 or more in 2018 and were invited to the game truck. Looks like it cost $250 then. I don’t think they had incentives for selling less than 10.

Last year, we sold 400 of the 500 cards at $20 a piece for $8,000. The cards cost over $300 and the cost of envelopes at about $70 plus the celebration and small incentives costs were probably around $500 total.🤔 Only 13 kids sold 10 or more last year.

I hope we will sell all 500 this year so we could potentially walk away with $9,000 if we do the Game Truck ($500 + tip) with no smaller incentives.

Thanks for your thoughts. I know people love the game truck. I just want to be sure we (pta) agree with the plan!

We sold 25 cards at Open House so we’ve already covered the cost of the cards and envelopes!! Good start!!

I'm good with the game truck if that's what has been popular in the past. If we are looking to cut costs we could consider Kona Ice or an ice cream truck. When I was in elementary school we sold wrapping paper (I'm sure we all did!) and the top 10 sellers got a pizza party with the principal. I thought that was the coolest thing ever.......however I never sold enough. Ha Ha
We could have 2 smallish incentives at 7 and 10. Or just a big one at 10.

For whatever it’s worth I asked Griffin what would motivate him and his face lit up over the game truck and he made a funny face about pizza w/Dr Williams. Lol

I vote for doing both since the little duck things are pretty cheap.
