The calendar is very wrong then. I thought I updated all those dates already. I know when we first set up the calendar this year we didn’t know the exact date. 

It will be the 28th and is updated as such on the calendar but this Thursday is also listed incorrectly as a meeting. 

We will have a general meeting at the Art Show where vote in the new members.

Hi Everyone, 

Given that we will not meet until the general PTA meeting at the art show, I have a question for the group:

Do we intend to present a slate for the 2022-2023 PTA board at the meeting during the Art show? 

If yes,

•  Is there a chart of filled vs. open positions?
• Have we sent out a form for people to volunteer for positions? 
• I can be available to call or follow up with people who have responded

If no, 

• What is the plan to field the PTA board for next school year? 
• It feels wrong to ignore the extreme difficulty we have had finding representation on the PTA board. I am open to having a discussion around this and possible solutions
• If we are not prepared to put a slate up for vote at the art show I propose that we use the art show to do a heavy push for the need for volunteers. Printing flyers/handouts etc
• Pending the date of the dance this could be another opportunity for a vote.

I have heard nothing from anyone and reached out to Shannon today to see if she had any ideas.

This is the list she gave me...

What about Brandon and Blake Weiner's dads?  Jax Maloy's mom.  Shayna Rosen's mom.   The Sommers, the Sterns.  Jessica McNeal.  Hattie Bowles' mom.  Kristin Lowe.  Metzloffs.  Carter Upshaw's mom.  

If anyone knows them can you let me know their contact info or reach out to them? The only open position we have a volunteer for is secretary, Kristin Quarles. Claire Metzloff said she would do one of the roles, but has not decided on which one. I will reach out to her and ask her if she has decided. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know. I have not been around the school much, so have not had much opportunity to talk with anyone. 

I think we may have to use the art show to push for volunteers. Finding board members has always been difficult and it has gotten way worse with COVID. 

I'm open to other ideas. I think maybe a separate specific email just asking for new board members is one option.

Given the time constraints, I agree using the art show to continue to solicit volunteers sounds logical.  I think there has previously been a google form for sign up.  Can that be activated again to send out an email for signing up? We could also print something to go home in next Thursday's folders. 

Maria - Do you have a list of the positions that we are recruiting for this year? 

I don't know any of the people on Shannon's list.  I have a few people that I've spoken to that are interested in learning more -- Rathi Mani-Kandt and Tara Craighead

I have already asked the Weiner Dads earlier in the year about stepping into a role and they said no but I think I may see them this weekend and if not I can reach out so will check in again. 

Lots of these folks are available in the directory and I don’t think there is anything wrong with reaching out and saying someone mentioned you would be a good person to have on PTA and we are checking in to see if you are interested if none of us know them.
