Hi everyone. This is my first stab at the "ALL THE INFO" email that we will send out - hopefully by this weekend latest. Would y'all take a look and let me know what's missing, what's wrong, anything else? Things for the store that aren't there now? Info that new and returning parents need to know? Links that would be helpful?

I've also been working on the store in Membership Toolkit (MTK). Adding photos and such. I need info about pricing if it's changing - agendas, shirts, etc - AND to know if we're ready to take orders online.

This is a great opportunity to connect with other parents/caregivers in your child's class and meet some of this year's PTA. Looks great. There are a few edits as well as questions I have. 

I would add a blurb about ASA on the "at open house you can..." and the teachers are calling their students again this year. So maybe remove the "find out your homeroom teacher." In the PTA section I would remove the write up about waiting on dekalb county to see if volunteers are welcomed in the building. We know they now are just not 100% sure on the details. 

As far as MT goes, I think we should update the calendar to reflect all events happening at the school and not just the district. New parent coffee, Wonderful Wednesday etc. Lastly, will we have a link on MT to the spirit wear store? I noticed we have older shirts but not the Anne Frank logo.  Great start Amanda!

The school store has the old spirit wear and magnets but this year’s spirit wear is being sold by a company and families will order direct. We probably should find a way to link to the new vendor through the school store as well as having the direct link in our communications. Katie Hotard is handling spirit wear so she may have thoughts on the pricing of the older ones. She’s also going to be giving out old yard signs for new PTA memberships or something (per Shannon.)

I recall we talked about the teachers calling after Open House so we could get more families to come to Open House. Was that established or are they planning to call beforehand?

It’s all coming together nicely!!

Love the images on the school store items Amanda, thank you!  

I'm going through all the SKUs and forms to update pricing, inactivate items we don't need (like current spiritwear), and add a credit card transaction fee to everything (PayPal charges us $0.30 plus 2.89% per transaction).

I know we raised the price on a few things last year, but I don't think we changed the price of agendas.  What do you all think about making the agenda/folder item $7.50 instead of $7.00?  I think we should leave the kindergarten folders at $2.00.

We could also increase the cost of PTA memberships.  Instead of $10, we could do $11 or $12 per parent and keep faculty at $10.  Thoughts?

Also, I tried to add a required field for email addresses on the one and two person membership forms.  I haven't tested it yet, so I'm not sure what it looks like.  I know we discussed still charging $20 for a two person/family membership and only submitting one membership to the state, but I think we should continue to submit two memberships and hopefully the added fields for email addresses will help.

Yes, I think we need to accept cash and checks.  We tried not to last year, but ended up taking some cash.  I'm working on a way to keep it paperless for us but also send people a receipt - Google form maybe?

I think we should call the discount card a Community Discount Card so that it’s more apparent to newer families what that might be in the email. 

In the school store it would be helpful if we explained what is included in a gold donation or any other “package”, there is currently no price listed so it’s a bit confusing. 

We mention that the agendas are $5 in the body of the email and we changed that to $7…see attached image for location. 

I did’t go too deep into the store but it looks great aside from that little tweak.

I saw that OGE includes pre-k in the Saturday popsicle play date? That’s a really great idea. I bet Shannon could help us to send out a specific message to the pre-k and k tamiles that are already registered. 

Thoughts on including pre-k. I know a lot of parents that would have loved that last year.

Not a bad plan moving forward. We can look into implementing Prek in 2023. We need to get the newsletter out ASAP and don't really have time to seek approval from Dr. Williams.

Anybody want to take a look at the store?  All items shown should be current and pricing should be correct.  I set it up so all credit card transactions will be charged a transaction fee that matches the fee PayPal charges us.

Amanda, in the newsletter will you please highlight the fact that people will get a free yard sign and agenda/folder with purchase of at least one PTA membership and $50 donation or higher?

All membership/donation bundles show up first in the store now.  If we want to rearrange anything, we just need to change the item description. Happy to make changes if needed.

Also, if we have an Anne Frank image to use instead of John Lewis for the car magnets and yard signs, I think we should do that.  The only Ann Frank image I saw was for the agenda.

Thanks Casey. I updated the yard sign and magnet to the Anne Frank pic. Just a thought-should we make all the bundles after the PTA membership for 1 family or 2? As a parent I looked over it and was annoyed it took me a minute to find the correct link to purchase. Other than that it looks great.
