Teacher request for help

Hi! How do we want to handle teacher requests? Would love to have something that the pta sends out possibly to get some volunteers. Or do we have a list of volunteers we could push this to?

I’m happy to jump in for the immediate need before a larger scale volunteer system is set up. Let me know if that works and I can reply back to her and buy some time to get room parents assembled. I’m sure this will be more than a third grade need.

My plan is to send out room parent coordinator communication later next week. Trying to give everyone a chance to breathe after the race to the first day. I've already sent out emails to the 5 teachers that still needed sign ups for Room Parent to reach out to their class list and "politely beg" for volunteers. (High, Schlenk, Ginn, Insogna, and Rhyne-Byrd)

I will check if someone signed up for Ms. Lyon. I also gave each teacher a copy of their sign ups, so she has it.

I helped with 3rd grade copies last week and it was a ton. For this, Ms. Whitfield had everything organized to be copied and number of copies for each 3rd grade room requested, so it was for the entire grade.

Hi Erin-

Excellent. I know Jackie well and sorta begged her to sign up with me. I do not know the other parent yet. 

It sounds like Lyon’s already had someone there helping out this morning too. I personally like to let these types of requests simmer for a beat to let a parent who was maybe reluctant to raise their hand in general on day 1 and “commit to the unknown” do it for a specific request. It seems most of the time someone steps up and now we know another active parent in the community to tap when we have a need. 

If this is not how you want these requests addressed just let me know and I’m happy to coordinate with the other room parents more quickly.  I’m excited that we have 3 for this class it makes it all so much easier then.

For room parent duties and communication please make sure to use my personal email that I provided on the form vs the PTA email. I don’t want to cause any confusion in the future when someone is looking back on the parliamentarian email. Mcleno...@gmail.com is the personal email to use.
