to Building and Grounds discussion group of PTA at Sagamore Hills Elementary School
Thought the Building & Grounds group might be interested in what Dan
Acker has been thinking about for some trees around the woods of the
Cafeteria side of Sagamore Hills Elementary.

The large Bradford pear has had the top broken off. He says that its reached
its life expectancy and that when it starts breaking off at the top, it's
going to continue to break off limbs during rainstorms and ice storms. The
other two he says are struggling and not appropriate for the space given the
lack of sun, so they will continue to struggle.
There is a young oak tree there that is to become the focal point of the
area.

I know these trees.
Why does he recommend taking the trees down?
Are they dead?

Good morning all,
An arborist has determined that three trees on the cafeteria side of the
school should come down: The large Bradford pear and the two small crab
apple trees. This Sunday afternoon I am going to be taking down the hardscape
in that area (gazebos, bench, wood wall, stone bog pond) to make way for a
new school project.
