Hello OMF Community,

The latest MDS 2.0.1 patch release is now live, after a few months of development, review, and public meetings! This patch simply fixes some minor issues, links, and typos to help make the specification clearer - it does not substantively change MDS 2.0.0 in any way. The code has been merged into both the 'dev' and 'main' branches of MDS.

The final release notes and detailed changes are here:
https://github.com/openmobilityfoundation/mobility-data-specification/releases/tag/2.0.1

Read our Version Guidance to know how and when to upgrade your MDS versions. As of now the only supported release is MDS 2.0.x - prior versions like MDS 1.2 or 1.1 are deprecated and no longer supported, so please upgrade to 2.0 soon.

Thanks go to all the wonderful public and private member volunteers of our Working Group Steering Committee, and organizations like City of Bergen, Nextbike, Populus, Ride Report, SFTMA, Transbits, and Whoosh for working on this patch.

The OMF community has been turning our attention to increasing the adoption of MDS 2.0 for new modes like passenger services and robotaxis, the implementation of city-published MDS Policy feeds, and urban air mobility (
AAM/UAM)

Please join our working group meetings and open GitHub issues to participate and bring your ideas.

Thanks,

Michael Schnuerle
