Hello Carshare folks,

This Thursday September 29 we will be discussing carshare use cases and data sharing in our public MDS Working Group meeting. 

Please leave your Carshare experiences and uses cases now:

We want to make sure MDS can support what you need, and needs are very different in the US and Europe, across states and cities, and by vehicle form factors and operators.

Attend in person to share your thoughts in the group discussions, and share this email with anyone in this space who may be interested.

We are working hard to add Careshare as a new mode in MDS 2.0, with a big focus on this in September's Modes Month.

There is a Task Force with a mailing list where we are working on adding what's needed to MDS for carshare. If you are an OMF member, there is also a Carshare Member Network you can join.

On September 29 we will do a deep dive in our public meeting about Carshare, so please attend. In the meantime leave your use cases and ideas here as a comment!

Here is who we know of operating careshare now, and some are using a form of MDS for this. If you have others add them in the comments.

  14. Companies - Blue Systems, Populus, Inverse, Vulog
  15. Most large cities in EU have carshare

Hello MDS Carshare People,

We had a great public working group meeting last week about adding Carshare to MDS 2.0, and we still need your feedback, use cases, and data requirements listed as comments here:

That brings Modes Month to an end with 4 meetings around new Modes in MDS 2.0. We will have a followup meeting soon on all of the new modes and data available in the next version of MDS.
