Greetings, Atlantia.
By now, most of you have heard of the untimely passing of Mistress Graçia Esperança de Sevilla. This was a shock to everyone, and the Kingdom of Atlantia is feeling a lot of pain at this loss. It’s taken me a while to be able to put my thoughts down.
She will be missed by so many, because she touched so many people over the years. The most common thing I’m seeing people say online is that they will miss her “Run By Hugging’s”. She was notorious for those, and for checking on people to make sure they were okay.
She gave so much of herself, in her cooking, in her service to her Barony, to her friends, and to people she didn’t even know. She had a clever wit, a mind geared toward shenanigans, and a smile and laugh that would brighten even the gloomiest of days.
Words cannot adequately express what she meant to this Kingdom. We are better off for her having been here. And though the light in this Kingdom seems dimmer today without her, it will not remain so.
Mistress Graçia taught us to love life, and to love each other. She taught us how to have fun, how to laugh, and how to take care of each other.
Grieve how you must but then take up her mantle. Be the person that she was, and that she would want you to be.
Honor her memory. Cherish the times spent with her. Think of her family and friends as they go through this terrible time.
We are Atlantia. We are strong. We will get through this.
Gracie would want us to.
