Michigan Birding Listers,
As always, apologies for cross posting and some of you seeing multiple copies of this posting
As you probably know, there has been a total makeover of the MichListers Compilation. The new format is in two web accessible Google Sheets. Updated County Lists of every type are in the "MichListers Compilation 2023 - by County" sheet while State & Regional Lists and Ticks are in the “MichListers Compilation 2023 Other” Sheet
We will include the County and State List totals shown in eBird. It is time for the call for updates of Michigan birders lists. We are gathering the totals as of the end of 2023 for the 33rd Annual Michigan Listers Compilation. The compilation is always done with totals as of December 31st. PLEASE ONLY SEND TOTALS THAT ARE DIFFERENT THAN WHAT THE COMPILATION ALREADY SHOWS!! Also, please divide your submission as appropriate for the two separate Sheets and please send the data in the order that they will appear in the Sheets. Do not just send in a list of your County List Totals.
We know there are some birders with large County lists who have not participated in the past and we ask for your help in encouraging them to submit their totals. Please note that since there are no Whooping Crane records accepted for Michigan by the Michigan Bird Records Committee we do NOT include them in this compilation. DO NOT INCLUDE WHOOPING CRANE, SOUTHERN LAPWING OR SMEW IN ANY OF YOUR LIST TOTALS. The same is currently true for European Goldfinch, Barnacle Goose, Egyptian Goose and any other species not on the official Michigan list (even if they show up in your eBird totals).
To see the results of previous compilations we recommend that you visit this website put together by Todd Palgut:

If you have 100 or more birds on your list for any County or other site in Michigan, we encourage you to send the list in. The lists of categories are included in the first column of the Overview page of each Sheet.
Feel free to contact us with any questions you have. Please forward to any other birders or local Michigan birding email lists you may be part of and please let us know if you notice any mistakes.
Perhaps most importantly, please note the email address for submissions and corrections:
Also, a huge thank you to Adam Byrne, Tom Pavlik, Lyle Hamilton and Todd Palgut for all of their time, effort and expertise to make this all happen. Thank them the next time you see them while out birding.
