Greetings GRASE people

I'd like to set a time limit in the number of minutes for each login, and that the user would be presented with the login screen every certain amount of time. I see the recurring X minutes setting in the group settings, but the recurring time is every hour to months, and that's too high for my needs.

Is it possible to have a lower recurring time each login?

Many thanks in advance

Hi Antonio

Can you please explain you use case in more detail? If they are just going to log back in, what's the point in forcing them to the login screen every X minutes? Normally you'd do that by only giving them that many minutes, and then they need another user account. Recurring limits are somewhat related to how an ISP gives you X Gb a month. Not something to force you to login everyday if you've purchased a months worth.

If you can try and explain in more detail what you are trying to achieve, we can work out the best way to make it happen.

Tim

I use grase hotspot to force the Access Point users to watch a small token of advertisement before actually having internet. Since the users are not going to be connected as long as an hour, I want to have them look at ads every certain minutes (10, 15 or so)

Everything in Grase if perfect for this, but I just need to have them timed out and send to the redirection page, every X minutes.

I hope that I've clarified a little. If I didn't please let me know

Hi Antonio

This makes sense. Recurring limits aren't what you want. I'll have a look in the next few days to work out the best way to implement this. Basically you need the ability to set a maximum session time, even if they have time remaining overall. When you do this for your users, do you impose any other limits for them?

Regards

Tim

Hi Tim

Basically yes: session time out for a user. I can do the logic for each user if needed, I just need to have the timeout recurrent.

Also, I block some pages and downloads, but I intend to do so using Squid and its features.

Best Regards

Antonio
