Grandparents’ Day
Don’t Forget!
Friday, October 10 is Grandparents’ and Special Guests’ Day. 12:10-3:00pm
K-8 students will be hosting their guests for lunch, bingo, a prayer service and classroom visits beginning in our gym at 12:10.
If your child is leaving with a grandparent or guest, please fill out the Student Release Form. Students may not leave with their grandparents without completing this step.
Students will provide a lunch for themselves and their guests
Jersey Mike’s on Sheridan Road will be making a large delivery to Saint Andrew this day. You can order for your child and their guest online or in the app beginning October 7th. If you use the promo code JMGIVES 20% will be donated back to school! Please note "SA Grandparents" in the notes section. See the attached flyer for more information.
There will be no regular lunch service on October 10.

All grandparents are invited to attend Mass that weekend. There will be a special blessing of grandparents at the 9am Family Mass on Sunday.
Parents are Partners- don’t miss this!
Saint Andrew School, in partnership with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), will be holding a virtual presentation for parents on October 15th at 7pm: Protecting Kids Online: A Virtual Safety Event. This presentation is designed to provide parents with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. More details will follow next week.
Let’s Shop!
Lakeview-Roscoe Village’s 18th annual Shop for Schools Fundraiser is October 8–10. This three-day event directly benefits local schools. When you shop at participating businesses across Lakeview and Roscoe Village, 15% of your purchase will be donated to Saint Andrew School. Plus, the Chamber will award up to $6,000 in bonus donations to the top six schools with the most participation. Please see the attached flyer with events specifically for Saint Andrew Families.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Conferences will be held the week of October 20, with October 23 being a noon dismissal. Please sign up for your conferences here:Conference Sign Up 2025. Indicate if you would like for your conference to be in-person or virtual; this document will be locked after the 18th.
Bulldog Hustle
What an amazing day at the Bulldog Hustle! Our community came together in such a fun and spirited way, and the giving portal is still open for those who would like to contribute. While we are still tallying the final numbers, we are proud to announce that we have already surpassed our goal! We are grateful for your generosity and support. Go Bulldogs!
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the volunteers who worked behind the scenes to organize t-shirts and prizes, to SAPO for sponsoring the student water station, and to the dedicated parents who spent the day at school and even brought Buddy the Bulldog to life.
Staffing Change
Ms. Gjurgjiali, our STEM and 8th-grade math teacher, will not be returning to Saint Andrew. We have already begun the search for a qualified teacher to join our faculty. In the meantime, we are fortunate to welcome back Mrs. Phyllis Geistlinger, who has graciously come out of retirement to fill the position until a new teacher is hired. Welcome back, Mrs. Geistlinger!
Confirmation Retreat
Please keep our 8th graders in your prayers. They will be attending their Confirmation Retreat this weekend.
Running of the Bulldogs 5K
Registration is now open for the 17th Annual Saint Andrew Parish Running of the Bulldogs 5K. Join us on Sunday, October 19 at Montrose Harbor. The day begins with a Sunrise Mass at 8:15am, followed by the 5K race at 9:00am and the Kids’ Fun Run at 9:45am. Proceeds benefit our sister parish in Lwamata, Uganda, as well as Saint Andrew School’s health and wellness programs. Thanks to last year’s event, we were able to fund middle school drug education and cover installation costs for our newly donated scoreboards. Register before Monday to secure a T-shirt.
