Good afternoon!
Thank you to our parents and teachers for taking the time to attend parent-teacher conferences this week. Your partnership is essential. When home and school work together, our students thrive. We’re grateful for your continued support and collaboration.
Pizza Party
Yesterday’s pizza party raised over $1200 for the class of 2026. Thank you to all of the parents, students, and Jet’s Pizza for supporting the event.
Safety Presentation
Today, students in grades 3–8 participated in age-appropriate sessions on digital safety and responsibility, led by Kathleen McGowan, with the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. They learned how to make smart choices online, recognize unsafe situations, talk to a trusted adult when something feels wrong, and practice kindness and respect in the digital world.
Puppy Players Performance
Follow the yellow brick road to the auditorium on Monday, October 27 at 4pm to see the Puppy Players perform their production of the "Merry Ol' Land of Oz!" Come watch Dorothy, Glinda, The Wicked Witch and all of the other friends from Oz sing, dance and act in this adorable show!
Red Ribbon Week
Saint Andrew students kicked off our Red Ribbon Week to promote healthy lifestyle choices. Students are participating in fun activities and exercises focused on wellness and positive habits. We have two more events planned for next week.
Hydration Monday: Bring your water in anything but a water bottle! (Please make sure it’s non-breakable and fits inside your child’s backpack.)
Tuesday: Wear a red shirt to show your support for healthy living!
Trunk or Treat
Don’t forget! Trunk or Treat is following the 4pm mass tomorrow, October 25.
Halloween
We will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 31. Our ECE and Kindergarten students will parade in the gym for their families at 8:30 a.m. Students in grades 1–8 may come out of uniform in favor of black and orange.
As many of our students will be out trick-or-treating that evening, we encourage everyone to stay safe, travel in groups, use well-lit streets, and watch for traffic. Let’s make it a fun and safe Halloween for all!
Book and Bake Sale Donations and Volunteers
One of our favorite events, the Used Book and Bake Sale is coming up on November 9. Please see the attached flyer for donation and volunteer opportunities.
Parent Social
Join other parents for a fun night out at Roscoe Village Pub (2159 W. Addison St.) on Wednesday, November 19, from 7–10 p.m. to support our amazing Saint Andrew teachers! All tips will benefit the Saint Andrew Teacher Fund, with drinks served by our very own parents. Interested in bartending? Sign up here.
A Note From Ms. Olson
We are still seeing a prevalence of head lice here at Saint Andrew. Please continue to pay particular attention to your child’s scalp/hair for the time being. If you are unsure of what to look out for, the CDC offers some helpful guidance on checking and treating/preventing head lice. If you should find it present in your child, the entire household should be checked as well, and please keep us informed! If you have any questions or specific concerns, please email me: kelle...@gosaintandrew.com
